Description

Several times I have visited the beautiful and quite strange environs of Škocjan, Slovenia. It is here that a large underground cave system is carved out by the Reka River. Walking on the surface, I was aware that the earth beneath my feet was hollow.

On this occasion I was a guest of The Golden Boat Poetry Translation Workshop. A furious week developing other poet’s texts also included much time for contemplation and development of new work.

This filmpoem is a response to place. It was written and recorded on location, the text read in a pitch black cemetery after midnight, by the light of my phone.
